The heroin epidemic in Northeast Ohio is among the worst in the country.  People are dying.  It's time to act. 

Creation House will be a treatment and transitional home for women located on the Beyond The Walls Church campus in Elyria, Ohio.  ReCreation Weekend will take place June 24-26 to raise awareness and funds for the project.

Suspected Berea Drug Dealer Charged with Selling Fatal Heroin Dose to Lakewood Man

CLEVELAND, Ohio — A Berea man was indicted by a federal grand jury Tuesday on charges that he sold the heroin that resulted in the death of a Lakewood man earlier this year. 

Brandon Wagner, 43, is charged with distribution of heroin and using a communication facility to facilitate a felony, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office. He is accused of selling a fatal dose of the opiate that killed Cory Cooke.

AKRON, Ohio — Jessica Canada Holmes started taking painkillers after she had surgery to remove a cyst that developed on her lower back while she was pregnant with her son Carter.

Prescriptions for Opioids Fall in Ohio, But Addiction Continues to Kill at Alarming Rates

n response to a spiraling overdose crisis, Ohio health regulators enacted urgent reforms in 2012 to limit the amount of opioids prescribed to patients, cutting the number of doses by 11.5 percent over the next three years.

Police: Lorain Couple Sold Heroin/Fentanyl with Daughter in Backseat

A Lorain couple were arrested May 30 for allegedly selling a mixture of heroin and fentanyl while their 3 ½ year old daughter was in the backseat of their car, according to Lorain police. 

Jaymes Booker, 33, and Brandy Crooks, 31, were arrested after a two-week investigation by the Lorain Police Narcotics Bureau, according to Sgt. Tom Nimon. The pair had been observed allegedly making the sales around Central Park, 2800 Oakdale Ave. in Lorain.
